A leader of Somalia's Islamist insurgency threatened to attack America during a speech broadcast Monday.
"We tell the American President Barack Obama to embrace Islam before we come to his country," said Fuad Mohamed "Shongole" Qalaf.
Al-Shabab has not yet launched an attack outside Africa but Western intelligence has long been worried because the group targeted young Somali-Americans for recruitment. About 20 have traveled to Somalia for training and at least three were used as suicide bombers inside Somalia.

Dutch arrest 12 Somalis thought to be ready to launch terror attack
Dutch authorities have arrested 12 men of Somali origin they believe were about to carry out a terrorist attack, authorities said Saturday.
The country's intelligence service provided information that led to the arrests in Rotterdam, Public Prosecution Service spokesman Wim de Bruin told CNN.
No weapons or explosives were found, he said. The suspects are in police custody.
"The attack was said to be imminent so the national police started an investigation which led to the arrest of 12 Somalis later on Friday in Rotterdam," de Bruin said. "We are not sure about what the target was, how they were going to carry out the attack or when."
A Dutch counterterrorism office spokeswoman said the immediate threat to the country has been removed and the terror alert level will remain "limited," or relatively low.
"We are now following the information that comes out of the interrogations with these 12 individuals to see if there still remains a threat from this plot," said Judith Sluiter of the National Coordinator for Counterterrorism.
The men, between ages 19 and 48, were arrested in various locations. Police have searched a pawn shop, four homes and two hotel rooms, de Bruin said.

Islamic jihadists plotting to poison multiple U.S. buffets and salad bars

The 'credible' plot involved slipping the poisons cyanide and ricin into salad bars and buffets, according to CBS news.
The terrorist group behind the failed 'ink cartridge' attacks on cargo planes in October were said to have hatched the plan.
Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula branded the plot 'Operation Haemorrhage'.

Islamic world domination
The question is not whether terrorism is now a world-wide reality, but why is terrorism happening at all? And, is it possible to thwart the activities of the Islamic extremists?
To understand how to deal with an enemy, one must first seek to understand the issues. What is their motivation? Do they have a goal?
Who are these people? Why are they willing to go to such desperate lengths? Why are their own lives apparently expendable? Why do they target innocent civilians who have no direct conflict with them, and have no understanding of their agenda? Why attack office towers? Why attack buses carrying innocent, unarmed civilians? Why disguise themselves as normal passengers, or shoppers, or college students? Why hide in the everyday crowd, then attempt to perpetrate as much carnage and damage as possible? How do you fight an enemy you cannot identify until it is too late?
Why are all these attacks committed by Islamic adherents? Is this only coincidence, as some would make us believe? Would it not be expedient to pay some attention to the Islamic religious orientation, and ask some searching questions?
In a multi-cultural tolerant society we embrace diversity. On the surface this is an applaudable virtue. However, the Islamic terrorists are taking advantage of our propensity to be accepting, and are wielding our ideological “freedom for all” against us! They hide within their own religious people, most of whom, on the surface at least, appear to be peaceful. They also know it is unacceptable for the rest of the tolerant population to single out one religion for vilification. While we are busy bending over backward to make certain religious freedom is available to all, those of a religious orientation that desires to destroy all other religions, operate from within that freedom and safety to wage war against us!
And, it matters not whether others of their own Islamic faith are marginalized, or attacked, or even murdered, so long as the goal is ultimately reached. Muslim against Muslim is perfectly acceptable, and apparently even necessary! We observe this being played out in Iraq where militants are attacking other Muslims, simply because they align themselves with those who promote peace and democracy. This is not merely a conflict between one group of Muslims and another, or even simply between Muslim and those of other faiths, although that is used as an excuse. Rather it is a martyrdom ideology, where life is expendable, and loss of ones life is desirable in pursuit of the cause.
We view this as extreme, but in their belief system, it is the ultimate jihad to be shahid, or to cause other Muslims to be shahid in the name of Allah.
The terrorists are not simply fighting against the West and democracy. They are not simply fighting against Jews and Christians. Rather, these are necessary conflicts in their view, to further their Islamic world-wide cause. They are for peace, but only on their terms, which means when Islam rules the world there will be peace. Until that day, jihad must be performed in the name of Allah.
The so-called terrorists are not insane. Neither are they fringe. Rather, they are the military “troops” for Islam! The rank and file are on a different level in the jihad, but none-the-less are equally as dangerous, because they soften up the unsuspecting masses by being peaceful law-abiding citizens who simply wish to live and let live. These fortunately honestly are peaceful citizens, and yet they also are misunderstood in relation to the greater Islamic picture They have no desire to blow themselves, or others, to smitherines! But they, and we, are being deceived by this peacefulness! Their peace is a jihad, because it allows Islam to infiltrate society. Once Islam becomes an accepted part of society, the more extreme jihad forces are able to begin operating. That is the strategy now taking place in Britain, in Europe, and in America! This is war through first wielding “peace”as the weapon of choice, and it is obviously very effective!
How can “peace “be used to destroy many? We are seeing this phenomonon even now, as so-called peaceful Islam is waging an insideous jihad against all that is democratic, or of other religious persuasions, or even of alternate Islamic groups.
There will soon arise a world ruler who will use peace to destroy and subjugate many nations. Bit this ruler will not suddenly arise out of thin air! He will rise to power because of an ideology, a religious/ political system which is aligned against the Jews, Christians, and all who are considered infidels and dhimmies. He specifically comes against the “Prince of princes.” Who is the “Prince of princes,” and why is he antagonistic toward him in particular? The “Prince of princes” is the Prince of Peace, Moshiach, who is to rule the nations from Jerusalem. This Prince of Peace is ethnically a Jew, and the Muslims know he is to come. Therefore they have a burning motivation to annihilate the Jews to prevent his arrival on the world stage! They are on a jihad to prevent Messiah from ruling the world. They desire instead to make sure Islam rules the world.
This thinking influenced the “Final Solution!” that Hitler tried to implement during WWII. Not commonly reported is the fact that Hitler had close connections to the Islamic world through the Imam of Jerusalem. A major portion of Hitler’s military was headed by Muslims. The Holocaust takes on a rather different twist when we consider this connection! Why would there be need for a “Final Solution?” Why would annihilating the Jews be a “Final Solution?” What was the “Jewish question?” Hitler feared the Jews had plans to take over the world! The “solution?” Rid the world of all Jews. Prevent them from producing the Messiah! Where did he get this idea from? Not from his own head, but from Islam! Hitler was not insane! Hitler was indoctrinated! Did Hitler embrace Islam? Not entirely, but Islam influenced his world-view.
The Ottoman Empire of Islam had been slowly but surely taking over Eastern Europe and the Middle East, and had designs on taking over Russia and Western Europe. World War I halted the Islamic quest for world domination in its tracks, but it was not completely knocked out. Although most of the territory administered by the Ottoman Empire was taken over by the British during the course of World War I, the Islamic ideology was not dealt a death-blow, but went underground. By the time Hitler arose on the scene, the Islamic goals were well on the way to regrouping. Hitler’s Mein Kampf, and the forgery The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, gained popularity throughout eastern, then western Europe, and prepared the groundwork for Hitler’s Holocaust “Final Solution” to “the Jewish question.” World War II dealt a decisive blow to Hitler’s regime, and won a great victory for freedom. However, the sinister ideologies behind Nazism, Fascism, and Islam were not annihilated. Hitler tried to deal with the nations head-on, army to army. His strategy did not work! What we are now witnessing, and experiencing, is a third wave of a bid for Islamic dominance, but this time, it is not taking the form of huge armies fighting other huge armies, instead, the war is being waged in a manner that is sinister, diabolical, and underhanded. There are no clearly identifiable enemy troops. Rather, the tact this time is to subvert, infiltrate, and from a clandestine position, gain ground through terror tactics. In essence, the world is now fighting World War III, but we haven’t recognized it yet!
The Islamic connection has again reared it’s head, and interestingly is being fed again by Hitler’s Mein Kampf, and The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which are best sellers in Pakistan, Turkey, Iran, and other Islamic nations. So, is Nazism dead? Absolutely not!! Unfortunately, it was not killed along with the soldiers of World War II, but rather is reviving again in the form of the terrorists, and the Neo-Nazis, most of whom also are Muslims! The Nazi/ Muslim connection is still alive and very strong! Unfortunately, most western world leaders fail to recognize the threat for what it is, but are resting in the shadow of the World War II victory, not realizing the monster was only knocked unconscious, not eliminated! In fact, most do not want to positively identify the Islamic connection!
We are in danger of being subjugated to the ideology of Islamic world domination. The Jews are again in grave danger, and so are all Christians, along with the nations and societies that are democratic. The Ottoman Empire failed. Hitler’s “Final solution”and his Third Reich failed. The Islamic quest has no intention of failing a third time! “First the Saturday people, then the Sunday people,” is not simply their slogan, but their strategy!
Do all Muslims believe in the insidious multi-level jihad? Absolutely! They are well aware that the ultimate goal of Islam, in obedience to Allah, is world domination. Most however, are not willing to be part of the militant terrorist and shahid forces. In fact, the majority of Muslims are embarrassed by suicide bombers, and the destructive terrorist activities. They would rather bring in world wide Islamic rule through peaceful means, such as through infiltration and winning converts. However, we must understand that the line between being a peaceful Muslim citizen, and becoming a terrorist or a shahid in the cause, is merely ideological. Some are willing to pick up the gauntlet because of their personalities, and their religious fervor. The problem is that it is impossible to accurately pick out from among them who desires to become a terrorist, or who a shahid. That is why an apparently upright peaceful productive chemist can suddenly appear to flip-out, and become the brains behind the bombs. That is why an apparent loving teacher and father can become a suicide bomber. The cause is greater than the life of the individual, and certainly greater than the lives of other Muslims, or of innocent non-Muslims.
So, how do we fight an ideology of death, destruction, disruption, and hate? The truth is, when such an enemy hides among the population, and attacks the innocent and unsuspecting, it is next thing to impossible. We can set up security cameras, send out security forces, check bags, ask questions, use electronics, but this enemy wears the best and most effective camouflage — they look normal.
Our only real defense is to pay attention to their rhetoric. Do not dismiss their Imam’s sermons as being the rantings of misguided religious crackpots. They are influencing and motivating the suicide bombers, and recruiting mostly idealistic youth to perpetrate their atrocities, offering promises of the excesses of the Islamic Paradise. They will deny they are being inflammatory, but rather they try to point out they are only giving sermons on their religious views, which is absolutely true, and that is why their words are so dangerous!

The so-called terrorists are not insane. Neither are they fringe. Rather, they are the military “troops” for Islam! The rank and file are on a different level in the jihad, but none-the-less are equally as dangerous, because they soften up the unsuspecting masses by being peaceful law-abiding citizens who simply wish to live and let live. These fortunately honestly are peaceful citizens, and yet they also are misunderstood in relation to the greater Islamic picture They have no desire to blow themselves, or others, to smitherines! But they, and we, are being deceived by this peacefulness! Their peace is a jihad, because it allows Islam to infiltrate society. Once Islam becomes an accepted part of society, the more extreme jihad forces are able to begin operating. That is the strategy now taking place in Britain, in Europe, and in America! This is war through first wielding “peace”as the weapon of choice, and it is obviously very effective!
How can “peace “be used to destroy many? We are seeing this phenomonon even now, as so-called peaceful Islam is waging an insideous jihad against all that is democratic, or of other religious persuasions, or even of alternate Islamic groups.
There will soon arise a world ruler who will use peace to destroy and subjugate many nations. Bit this ruler will not suddenly arise out of thin air! He will rise to power because of an ideology, a religious/ political system which is aligned against the Jews, Christians, and all who are considered infidels and dhimmies. He specifically comes against the “Prince of princes.” Who is the “Prince of princes,” and why is he antagonistic toward him in particular? The “Prince of princes” is the Prince of Peace, Moshiach, who is to rule the nations from Jerusalem. This Prince of Peace is ethnically a Jew, and the Muslims know he is to come. Therefore they have a burning motivation to annihilate the Jews to prevent his arrival on the world stage! They are on a jihad to prevent Messiah from ruling the world. They desire instead to make sure Islam rules the world.
This thinking influenced the “Final Solution!” that Hitler tried to implement during WWII. Not commonly reported is the fact that Hitler had close connections to the Islamic world through the Imam of Jerusalem. A major portion of Hitler’s military was headed by Muslims. The Holocaust takes on a rather different twist when we consider this connection! Why would there be need for a “Final Solution?” Why would annihilating the Jews be a “Final Solution?” What was the “Jewish question?” Hitler feared the Jews had plans to take over the world! The “solution?” Rid the world of all Jews. Prevent them from producing the Messiah! Where did he get this idea from? Not from his own head, but from Islam! Hitler was not insane! Hitler was indoctrinated! Did Hitler embrace Islam? Not entirely, but Islam influenced his world-view.
The Ottoman Empire of Islam had been slowly but surely taking over Eastern Europe and the Middle East, and had designs on taking over Russia and Western Europe. World War I halted the Islamic quest for world domination in its tracks, but it was not completely knocked out. Although most of the territory administered by the Ottoman Empire was taken over by the British during the course of World War I, the Islamic ideology was not dealt a death-blow, but went underground. By the time Hitler arose on the scene, the Islamic goals were well on the way to regrouping. Hitler’s Mein Kampf, and the forgery The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, gained popularity throughout eastern, then western Europe, and prepared the groundwork for Hitler’s Holocaust “Final Solution” to “the Jewish question.” World War II dealt a decisive blow to Hitler’s regime, and won a great victory for freedom. However, the sinister ideologies behind Nazism, Fascism, and Islam were not annihilated. Hitler tried to deal with the nations head-on, army to army. His strategy did not work! What we are now witnessing, and experiencing, is a third wave of a bid for Islamic dominance, but this time, it is not taking the form of huge armies fighting other huge armies, instead, the war is being waged in a manner that is sinister, diabolical, and underhanded. There are no clearly identifiable enemy troops. Rather, the tact this time is to subvert, infiltrate, and from a clandestine position, gain ground through terror tactics. In essence, the world is now fighting World War III, but we haven’t recognized it yet!
The Islamic connection has again reared it’s head, and interestingly is being fed again by Hitler’s Mein Kampf, and The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which are best sellers in Pakistan, Turkey, Iran, and other Islamic nations. So, is Nazism dead? Absolutely not!! Unfortunately, it was not killed along with the soldiers of World War II, but rather is reviving again in the form of the terrorists, and the Neo-Nazis, most of whom also are Muslims! The Nazi/ Muslim connection is still alive and very strong! Unfortunately, most western world leaders fail to recognize the threat for what it is, but are resting in the shadow of the World War II victory, not realizing the monster was only knocked unconscious, not eliminated! In fact, most do not want to positively identify the Islamic connection!
We are in danger of being subjugated to the ideology of Islamic world domination. The Jews are again in grave danger, and so are all Christians, along with the nations and societies that are democratic. The Ottoman Empire failed. Hitler’s “Final solution”and his Third Reich failed. The Islamic quest has no intention of failing a third time! “First the Saturday people, then the Sunday people,” is not simply their slogan, but their strategy!
Do all Muslims believe in the insidious multi-level jihad? Absolutely! They are well aware that the ultimate goal of Islam, in obedience to Allah, is world domination. Most however, are not willing to be part of the militant terrorist and shahid forces. In fact, the majority of Muslims are embarrassed by suicide bombers, and the destructive terrorist activities. They would rather bring in world wide Islamic rule through peaceful means, such as through infiltration and winning converts. However, we must understand that the line between being a peaceful Muslim citizen, and becoming a terrorist or a shahid in the cause, is merely ideological. Some are willing to pick up the gauntlet because of their personalities, and their religious fervor. The problem is that it is impossible to accurately pick out from among them who desires to become a terrorist, or who a shahid. That is why an apparently upright peaceful productive chemist can suddenly appear to flip-out, and become the brains behind the bombs. That is why an apparent loving teacher and father can become a suicide bomber. The cause is greater than the life of the individual, and certainly greater than the lives of other Muslims, or of innocent non-Muslims.
So, how do we fight an ideology of death, destruction, disruption, and hate? The truth is, when such an enemy hides among the population, and attacks the innocent and unsuspecting, it is next thing to impossible. We can set up security cameras, send out security forces, check bags, ask questions, use electronics, but this enemy wears the best and most effective camouflage — they look normal.
Our only real defense is to pay attention to their rhetoric. Do not dismiss their Imam’s sermons as being the rantings of misguided religious crackpots. They are influencing and motivating the suicide bombers, and recruiting mostly idealistic youth to perpetrate their atrocities, offering promises of the excesses of the Islamic Paradise. They will deny they are being inflammatory, but rather they try to point out they are only giving sermons on their religious views, which is absolutely true, and that is why their words are so dangerous!

Ugandan churches to require ID cards

Ugandan church leaders are asking Christians to produce identity cards and agree to security checks before entering some churches after two terrorist attacks at World Cup viewing parties left more than 70 people dead.
"We are taking these new measures to ensure that the worshippers are safe. We do not want the wrong people to enter into our churches," Anglican Bishop Stanley Ntagali of the Masindi-Kitara Diocese told ENInews.
The security measures follow bomb attacks on July 11 in Kampala at a rugby club and an Ethiopian restaurant, where people were watching the final match of the World Cup soccer championship.
Al-Shabab, a radical Somali Islamic group, claimed responsibility for the blasts and said there would be more attacks.
The Ugandan government has urged owners of buildings and other public facilities, including churches, to use adequate security measures, such as guards, metal detectors, cameras and lights.
"We are going to register our church members and provide them with proper identity cards. No stranger will be allowed to attend any prayer session," Pastor David Kiganda, vice-chairperson of the Uganda National Fellowship of Born-Again Churches, told Uganda's Daily Monitor.“

African Christians Vs. Islamists
The Islamists have it wrong: Islam isn't the world's fastest-growing religion. By birth numbers and convert tallies, it's Christianity.
And Africa's at the forefront -- a fact that going to body-slam Muslim extremists sooner or later.
The bombings that recently butchered World Cup fans in Uganda were just the latest in a long line of crazed attacks on African Christians by Islamist fanatics. In the central states of Nigeria -- Africa's most-populous country -- religious pogroms and counter-pogroms between Muslims and Christians have become routine.
In Kenya, al Shabaab terrorists from neighboring Somalia stir up trouble and make grotesque threats. And we all know what bestial acts Sudan's Islamist government has perpetrated against black Christians over the decades.
Throughout the region, patience is wearing thin. Africa's impassioned forms of charismatic and Pentecostal Christianity won't turn the other cheek forever. The coming backlash could be ferocious (even dictatorships could exploit a vengeful popular mood).
The Islamist imperialists pushing to expand in Africa would do well to recall that Christianity has historical claims on such states as Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Yemen and Saudi Arabia. Are they ready for mass violence aimed at a rollback? Or state conflicts?
A few years back, during one of four major research trips to sub-Saharan Africa, I visited the traditionally Muslim city of Mombassa on the old Swahili (Arab-slaver's) coast in Kenya. What I found was one of the sharpest religious juxtapositions I've seen in global travels.
Thanks to Saudi funding folly, there were far too many mosques for the congregants, so few hit critical mass. Islam in Mombassa felt sleepy, dusty and dull.
Kenya's Muslims were backward and listless. Condemned to poverty by poor educations (the Saudis pay Muslims to send their children to madrassahs, instead of to state schools), their culture seemed out of steam.
But Christianity blazed. Mega-churches couldn't contain all those who'd accepted Jesus as their Savior: City parks were packed with ecstatic worshippers every Sunday.
All along east Africa's Swahili Coast -- once a necklace of gems on the body of Islam -- the faith of Mohammed seemed like a museum exhibit in a neglected side room. The Christians -- from tribes Muslims had enslaved -- were the rising power.
As far as converts go, Muslims are being baptized (at great personal risk), but Christians aren't converting to Islam. Wahhabi Islam's rejection of joy just doesn't speak to Africans -- who even in misfortune seem incomparably alive.
Throughout sub-Saharan Africa, the old mysticism of folk religion glides easily into charismatic Christianity, but collides head-on with the intolerance of Wahhabism.
When I reached West Africa in later travels, it struck me that Islam never managed to penetrate the forests -- and not for lack of trying.
Forests, as we know from fairy tales, are the abode of magic -- for which Sunni Islam has no space. Africans can interpret Jesus as the greatest of conjurers, a worker of miracles, a miracle himself. Wahhabism, with its barracks regulations, can't compete.
I've never witnessed such religious fervor as I did in sub-Saharan Africa, from Zimbabwe north through Kenya and west to the Gold Coast. When Islamist terrorists attack African Christians, they're playing with a fire that burns white hot.
Pushed far enough, Christians will respond -- and it won't be pretty. The African church could become the church-ultra-militant.
Of course, a Christian crusade in response to jihad would be just fine with many Saudis and Gulf Arabs. They don't care about the suffering of individual Muslims -- only about Islam.
Thus the Saudis fund the provocative construction of mosques where there are few or no Muslims, from western Tanzania to eastern Tennessee. Every mosque helps stake a claim for the dar ul-Islam, extending the boundaries of the caliphate about which Islamists fantasize.
Meanwhile, the shared goal of the Saudis, al Qaeda, the Taliban and Somalia's al Shabaab is to prevent Muslims from integrating into non-Muslim host societies. In Kenya, a successful Muslim population that interacted and intermarried would be the worst outcome to Islam's commissars. Massacre would be preferable. And a violent Christian reaction would serve as propaganda to recruit the Islamist foot-soldiers who strap on the suicide bombs.
As radical Islam's hallucinatory ambitions continue to expand, the potential for tragedy on a grand scale soars. Religious strife could tear Nigeria apart, but elsewhere in Africa Muslims would swiftly find themselves on the losing end.
In Islamist extremism, we're confronted with a death-cult, not a faith -- while the vibrant Christianity of Africa pulses with life.
The collision appears inevitable.

Machete attackers kill Nigerian priest's family

Raiders armed with machetes killed the family of a Nigerian Christian priest and set fire to his church in central Plateau state Saturday, close to where hundreds have died in religious violence this year.
Residents said unknown assailants attacked the family of Rev. Nuhu Dawat in the early hours in the farming village of Mazah, around 12 km (7 miles) from the state capital of Jos, killing his wife, two children and grandson.
Dawat himself ran and hid when the attack occurred and was the sole survivor in his household. "I leave everything to God to judge," a sobbing Dawat told Reuters.
At least four other people were also killed in the attack, a military spokesman said. A Reuters witness said many of the bodies were slashed with what appeared to be machete blows and one was burned beyond recognition.
Military and police patrols have brought the situation under control and the violence has not spread to other villages, said Plateau State Police Commissioner Gregory Anyating.
"We are trying to find out the root causes of the violence," Anyating said. "We have not re-imposed the curfew."
Plateau state government lifted a night-time curfew for Jos and surrounding villages in May. It had first been imposed in November 2008 during post-election violence in Jos but was extended in January following clashes between Christian and Muslim gangs.
The federal authorities deployed troops to Jos after hundreds of people died in January but the military presence and curfew were not enough to prevent further outbreaks of violence in March and April, in which hundreds more people died.
Over the past decade, thousands of people have died in religious and ethnic violence in the "Middle Belt" of central Nigeria, where the Muslim north meets the predominantly Christian south.
The tension is rooted in decades of resentment between indigenous groups, mostly Christian or animist, who are vying for control of fertile farmlands and for economic and political power with migrants and settlers from the north.
President Goodluck Jonathan has said ensuring peace and stability is a priority.
But analysts fear local political rivals may seek to exploit the divisions in Plateau state in the run-up to nationwide elections due by next April.

Somalia's al Shabaab: „We have killed many Christians“

Among the at least 64 people killed in the two devastating blasts that tore through outdoor gatherings in Uganda where hundreds of soccer fans were in the midst of watching the World Cup final was 25-year-old American Nate Henn.
Henn worked for a California-based children's charity, Invisible Children, which helps former child soldiers in Uganda.
The selection of targets in the Ugandan capital of Kampala -- a restaurant and a sports field where people were watching the game on large-screen TVs -- ensured the bombs struck a broad mix of Ugandans and foreigners, including Americans. The wounded were rushed to local hospitals, which were soon overwhelmed. Fred Opolot, a Uganda Media Center spokesman, said, "The government of Uganda ladies and gentlemen does convey its condolences to the bereaved families and requests the public to remain calm under this situation, thank you very much."
Police said initial signs indicated bombs had been placed under tables, though investigators had not yet ruled out suicide bombers.
"Right now it is too early to say we have suspects because it could be a suicide bomber or a time bomb, so it is too early to speculate and conclude that they were suicide bombers. Let's give time to our investigators. They will be able to give us a full report of their findings," Capt. Judith Nabakooba, a police spokeswoman, said.
Al Shabaab, a fundemental Islamist group based in Somalia, today claimed responsibility for the attacks.
"We will carry out attacks against our enemy wherever they are," Sheik Ali Mohamud Rage speaking from Mogadishu told The Associated Press.
"No one will deter us from performing our Islamic duty. We are happy” with the outcome, and we thank the mujihadeens who carried out the attack — we have killed many Christians in the enemy capital, (Kampala).”
Intelligence officials had previously told ABC News there's evidence the attack was carried out by the Al Shabaab terror group.
During a recent trip inside Somalia for ABC News, we came face-to-face with Al Shabaab terrorists. At a prison in the northern Somali capital of Bosasso, captured militants threw rocks and shouted angrily at us when they found out we were Americans. When I asked one of them why people join Al Shabaab, accused terrorist Mohammad Amin Omar told me, "We're fighting to bring Islamic law to their country, because we are Muslims and it is according to the Koran."

Somali officials had long warned the group had both the ambition and ability to stage attacks outside Somalia. This appears to be the proof.
Intelligence officials had been tracking a cell of suicide bombers targeting Uganda, as well as Kenya and Burundi, in retaliation for a new offensive launched against Al Shabaab led by the Somali government and supported by African peacekeepers. All three of those countries are now on high alert.

Somali officials had long warned the group had both the ambition and ability to stage attacks outside Somalia. This appears to be the proof.
Intelligence officials had been tracking a cell of suicide bombers targeting Uganda, as well as Kenya and Burundi, in retaliation for a new offensive launched against Al Shabaab led by the Somali government and supported by African peacekeepers. All three of those countries are now on high alert.
