ICC
On
October 25, three Christian prisoners were released from prison in
Ethiopia after an ICC staff member (who is a native of Ethiopia)
called the Muslim police officials and reminded them that they were
violating the law for arresting the Christians for preaching the
gospel.
The
three Christians (one of whom is a former Muslim leader) were
arrested on October 15 for preaching the gospel to Muslims. Even
while they were in prison, the Christians continued to share their
faith. As a result of their testimony in prison, two people came to
Christ and others were healed from sickness after the Christians
prayed for them.
The
government officials panicked and released them after receiving the
call from ICC. A Muslim police official confronted the Christians and
asked them, “How do you have people in the US who asked us to
release you?”
Though
the three are now free, Muslim authorities are threatening to bring
criminal charges against the former Muslim leader.
ICC
is closely monitoring the situation. Please keep the Christians in
your prayers.
